Paul Saccone, Director of Applications, Marketing, Apple, shows off the latest features of Final Cut Pro, including support for Panasonic's AVCCAM format, the latest in the development of ProRes including support for ProRes playback within a Windows environment, and the ability to edit native RED 4K files in realtime in a 2K sequence in Final Cut Pro. New tools have been added to Apple's Color to enable one to manipulate the native RED 4K files in a non-destructive environment.

Digital Heaven introduce Loader

At MacVideo Live on the 25th October, Martin Baker demonstrated Digital Heaven's latest offering - an application called Loader. Loader enables one to import music, graphics and other media into Final Cut Pro and at the same time can convert formats and file the media away in a location determined by the user. This simplifies media management and avoids the problem of having files scattered throughout your system in various places - effectively Loader puts whatever you import into Final Cut Pro into one place.

The Phantom HD’s claim to fame is the ability to shoot uncompressed, high speed footage at up to 1,000 frames per second (fps) and up to 2K (2048x2048 pixels) resolution using a special CMOS imager. It accepts standard Pl-mount 35mm cinema lenses and is also capable of capturing in standard and HD resolutions from 1 fps all the way up to 1,000.
